This is an in-person workshop at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Registration closes July 7, or when full.
Discover a surprisingly simple strategy for teaching hands-on investigations that truly help build students’ scientific knowledge and skills.
In this workshop, you will explore the power of ABC: Activity Before Concept, and CBV: Concept Before Vocabulary, a research-based teaching strategy for hands-on student-led learning. This approach draws on student motivation and supports multilingual and multicultural students’ learning. You’ll experience hand-on activities as a learner, and collaborate with peers to evaluate curriculum and make adjustments to improve learning outcomes for students.
This workshop is designed for teachers of grades K-12. All educators are welcome.
